This 1936 Ford was originally owned by the Belchertown, MA FD. It was lettered as Truck 1.
To prepare the surface for restoration, we had to sand all the paint off. And worse...the metal that looked like this had to be ground off. This took my friend Al Tocscano and I several months.
The truck had been used to delivery motorcycles in Ontario for quite some time. The seller had done some nice wood work with oak and veneer, but it had aged. Al and I removed most of the wood and started over.
The headliner was in great shape.

Rather than spend over $700 to replace the running boards, we restored them from underneath with fiber glass.
